Body of Elderly Man Found After House Fire in Montevideo’s Villa Española Neighborhood

Firefighters found the body of an elderly man in a burned-out house in Villa Española.
The fire broke out early Friday morning, around 3 a.m., at a two-story home on Alonso de Ercilla and Francisco Vázquez Cores.
The call came in through the 9-1-1 emergency line, prompting firefighters to rush to the scene.
After putting out the flames, they searched the house and discovered the man’s body, according to the National Fire Department.
The Casavalle fire department team responded to the emergency.
Now, the Fire Investigation Department is examining the site to figure out what caused the fire.
The victim was estimated to be around 80 years old.
