Bodies of 5 Skiers Found in Swiss Alps After Avalanche

Rescue teams in Switzerland have found the bodies of five missing skiers in the Valais Alps. The skiers disappeared over the weekend, and officials think they were caught in an avalanche.

The bodies were discovered near the luxury ski resort of Zermatt, close to the Italian border. Three of the bodies were found in the same area, while the other two were located higher up the mountain. The victims’ identities have not been released yet.

The ski resort where the incident occurred is a popular destination for skiers from the UK and other European countries. However, reaching the top of the Rimpfischhorn mountain, where the bodies were found, takes around five hours from the resort.

This incident comes after a recent rescue mission on the Fiescherhörner mountain, where a team of Swiss rescuers saved four climbers who were stuck in bad weather. The rescuers had to make two attempts to reach the climbers and bring them to safety.

The local prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the incident.
