A financial storm brewed for Boavista SAD, with shareholders recently throwing out the club’s financial reports. This decision, a strong statement, covered the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. These were the years when the previous leadership, headed by Vítor Murta, ran the sports company.
The vote happened at a General Assembly meeting, where the turnout was high. More than 80% of the voting capital was present. This included Boavista Futebol Clube itself, which holds shares and is the founding club. Their voice carried significant weight in this critical gathering.
Fary Faye, the current president of the SAD, spoke up during the meeting. He shared that his biggest worry is keeping everyone connected within the “Boavista universe.” Faye stressed that success for the club depends on everyone pulling together. Only through unity can they reach their shared goals for Boavista’s future.
Meanwhile, the SAD has been busy on the field. They approved registering a new team with the Porto Football Association. This team secured a spot in Liga Pro, which is the top division of that district association. Jorge Couto will coach this side. It’s also worth remembering that the club already has another team playing in the fourth tier. Luís Merêncio guides that squad.
