Blumhouse: Jason Blum says other famous monster reboots are in development

the Dark Universe, desired by Universal and launched with great fanfare by the Mummy ofAlex kurtzman, crashed violently just after the first film carried by Tom Cruise. Despite $ 409 million in revenue for 125 million budget, the film suffered mostly negative reviews, burying any hope of an extended universe, especially since Russell crowe had to play in a Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde new look and that Johnny Depp was to embody the invisible man.

A major failure that will have invited Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind Paranormal Activity, Insidious or even Sinister, to recover many of these franchises to give them a second wind. So the ball was started with Invisible Man, who reported $ 143 million in revenue for only 7 million budget with very positive reviews. Other projects are in preparation like a film Wolfman of Leigh whannel with Ryan gosling in the title role. But according to an interview with Jason blum for Collider, there should be a multitude of other projects on famous movie monsters (and why not Frankenstein and Dr Jekyll / Mr Hyde) version Blumhouse. A new Dracula realized by Karyn kusama will also arrive on the screens:

“We are currently developing two or three. They have not yet been announced, but we can talk about them. But the negotiations with Universal are different because they are the owners of the characters. We come up with several ideas for some, but with a little luck we could do several ”.

With Dracula and Wolfman, a feature film Invisible Woman would appear in the pipes at Blumhouse, which has recently started the campaign to promote its new very creepy film “The Black Phone”.
