Spanish outdoor clothing brand Blue Banana is expanding its international presence with the launch of its first European store outside of Spain. Located in the Vasco da Gama shopping center in Lisbon, the 55-square-meter store is designed to inspire adventure and features a unique blend of natural and urban elements.
This new store is part of Blue Banana’s omnichannel strategy, which has been successful in Spain with over 20 physical stores and several dozen corners in El Corte Inglés and multi-brand stores. The brand has also entered multi-brand stores in Greece, Andorra, Uruguay, and Puerto Rico, and has a strong presence in Mexico with two stores and 14 corners in Liverpool department centers.
Blue Banana already has a presence in Portugal through its website and two corners in El Corte Inglés in Lisbon and Porto. According to Juan Fernández-Estrada, co-CEO of the firm, “We are excited to take our next step in Lisbon, a city that we love and that shares our passion for adventure and the outdoors.”
A Space for Inspiration
The new store features a unique design that combines elements inspired by nature, surfing, and mountain sports. The store will be open from December 18, Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 00:00, and will offer a selection of products from the Classic collection, as well as new items from the latest season, including lines for children and women and accessories.
Blue Banana is committed to sustainability, and its products are carbon negative, meaning that the brand compensates twice the CO2 emissions generated by its production. This is achieved through financing air purification projects coordinated by the United Nations.
Celebrating the Premiere
To celebrate the opening of its first physical store in Portugal, Blue Banana has organized a campaign that pays tribute to the unique terrain of Lisbon. The campaign will culminate on December 21 with an event focused on hiking, which will include challenges and prizes inspired by this popular sport.
The event will feature exclusive gifts for the first customers, discounts, and special activations in the store. Nacho Rivera, co-CEO of the brand, comments, “We are thrilled to finally open our first store in Lisbon. This city, with its slopes and hills, is the perfect setting to celebrate our love for hiking and adventure.”
