Blue Banana Opens First 2025 Physical Store in Gijon, Spain

Blue Banana just opened its 24th store in Spain, and it’s a big deal. This one’s in Gijón, a city in the north. It’s their second store in Asturias, after the one in Oviedo that opened in May. The new store is on a famous pedestrian street, Corrida, and it’s open from 10 am to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday.

The store’s design is all about surf and the coast, which fits with the brand’s vibe. They’re showcasing their iconic clothes, like tees, hoodies, and sweatpants with the famous “X” logo. And they’ve got new stuff from their spring-summer collection, inspired by surf and adventure. The best part? Their clothes are carbon negative, meaning they offset twice the CO2 they produce. They do this by funding air-purifying projects with the UN.

Nacho Rivera and Juan Fernández-Estrada, the founders, are stoked about the new store. They say they’ve got a special connection with Asturias and can’t wait to share their brand with the people of Gijón. They’re creating four new jobs and looking for team members who live and breathe adventure.

This new store is part of Blue Banana’s omnichannel strategy, which has already led to 24 physical stores in Spain, including an outlet, and 22 corners in El Corte Inglés. They’re also expanding internationally, with stores in Mexico and Lisbon, and corners in other countries.

To celebrate the opening, Blue Banana’s hosting an event on March 29. The first five people in line get to pick any product from the store, the next 50 get a personalized tee, and the next 100 get a tote bag. There will be surf-themed activities and giveaways, and people can register for an invite on the brand’s website.
