Atmaram Tomar, leader of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was assassinated at home.
According to Indian media, BJP leader Atmaram was found dead at his home in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, and it is being speculated that he was strangled to death.
Regarding the incident, driver Vijay said that when he reached Atmaram’s residence in the morning, the doors were closed and the door was not opened for a long time, so he informed the locals.
When they broke down the door and entered, Atmaram was found dead. He had a towel on his face and it is most likely that he was strangled with the same towel.
The incident was reported to the police and the family of the deceased. The police shifted the body to the hospital and handed over the body to the family after postmortem.
Atmaram had contested from Chhaprauli Assembly seat on a BJP ticket in 1993 and had been a BJP-appointed minister since 1997.
