A leader of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called off his daughter’s arranged marriage to a Muslim boy under pressure.
Yashpal Beynam from Uttarakhand state had fixed his daughter’s marriage to a Muslim boy on May 28, which was heavily criticized by Hindu extremists.
The wedding preparations were going on even the invitations had been distributed. Yashpal Beynam changed his decision at the last minute under pressure from Hindu extremists.
In fact, the uproar started when Hindu extremists read the name of a Muslim boy on the marriage card. He got angry and even threatened the BJP leader.
The BJP leader said that it is not right to get married in the environment that has been created, as a public representative I am not in favor of getting married under police security.
A card made for marriage is going viral on social media, which also includes the name of a Muslim boy.
