The Bitcoin network has hit a new all-time high (31.251 trillion) in terms of mining difficulty. It is the first time in history that this difficulty exceeds 30 trillion.
New all-time high of 31.251 trillion
Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto ensured the security of the Bitcoin network through a decentralized network of Bitcoin miners. These miners have to confirm the legitimacy of the transactions and create new blocks.
The mining difficulty protects the Bitcoin ecosystem against network attacks. The more mining power the BTC network has, the more computing power it takes to carry out such an attack. At the moment, the computing power is so great that it is actually impossible to carry out such an attack.
