Billions of dollars worth of gold have been discovered in the African country of Uganda.
Of a foreign news agency Reports The Ugandan government has claimed that it has discovered 31 million metric tons of gold reserves worth 12 1.28 trillion.
A spokesman for Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals said various government surveys had uncovered 31 million metric tonnes of gold reserves worth 12 1.28 trillion awaiting mining.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has said that the discovery of gold reserves and its refining at the local level has opened up new opportunities for regional development with new jobs in the region.
China’s Uganda Gold Mining Company has been licensed by the Ugandan government following an auction of gold mining rights in the Bosia district to boost the country’s economy. The company has also started construction of its own gold refinery in the district to extract gold at various stages.
