Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL trophy twice under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. The KKR team failed to perform well in IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Nitish Rana. The team was only able to win 6 out of 14 games. Kolkata Knight Riders’ star spinner Varun Chakraborty put in a brilliant performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. While playing for Tamil Nadu, Varun bowled brilliantly against Nagaland. Nagaland players couldn’t understand his balls and were out early. Varun scored 9 runs in his 5 overs and took 5 wickets. In addition, he also cast three maidens in his spell. Thanks to him, the Tamil Nadu team managed to win the game. Varun’s performance before IPL 2024 might have ended KKR management’s tensions over spin bowling. Showed strength in IPL
Varun Chakraborty has played 56 IPL matches and also picked up 62 wickets. His best performance was taking 5 wickets for 20 runs. He has variations whereby batsmen cannot read his balls properly and are dodged. Varun took 20 wickets in 14 matches for KKR in IPL 2023.
Tamil Nadu won
Thanks to Varun Chakraborty’s dangerous bowling, the Nagaland team managed to score just 69 runs against Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu reached the target of 70 runs without losing a wicket. Apart from Varun, R Sai Kishore took three wickets, T Natarajan and Sandeep Warrier took one wicket each in the match. It was only because of the excellent bowling of these players that the Nagaland team was unable to post a big score.
