Big news about Arabic script

Riyadh: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has added Arabic script to its list of cultural heritage sites.

According to details, Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Farhan has said that UNESCO has included Arabic script in its list of intangible cultural heritage. Saudi Arabia has received this award with the participation of 15 Arab countries.

The Saudi Minister of Culture congratulated the Saudi leadership on the honor, and said that the inclusion of the Arabic script in the list of cultural heritage with UNESCO is in line with the thinking and strategy of the Ministry of Culture.

The registration of the Arabic script with UNESCO will promote the Arab cultural heritage, and the Arabic script will flourish in different countries.

The Saudi Minister of Culture said that the Arabic script is considered a symbol of Arab identity, thanks to which it would be possible to transfer Arabic culture around the world in different periods of history.

He said that professional calligraphers are promoting Arabic script, artists and designers are also using Arabic script in carving, mural art and crafts, as well as artisans embellishing their products with Arabic script. Are

It may be recalled that the year of Arabic script was celebrated in Saudi Arabia between 2020 and 2021 under the Ministry of Culture.
