Big blow to BJP’s yogi government, Supreme Court order came

Uttar Pradesh: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh was shocked after the Supreme Court ruled in a landmark case.

According to the Indian News Agency, the recent Supreme Court decision has added to the woes of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

A bench of the apex court headed by Justice DY Chandra Choudh today heard the appeals of Pervez Arif Tattoo and some others against the Uttar Pradesh government.

In 2019, there were nationwide protest rallies, sit-ins and demonstrations against the CAA and NRC in India. Apart from Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus also took part in the protests which lasted for several months.

In these nationwide demonstrations and sit-ins against the CAA and NRC, the protest sit-ins in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh had gained international fame.

In the style of Shaheen Bagh, sit-ins were organized in almost all major cities of India against the Citizenship Amendment Act CAA but these sit-ins and demonstrations were called off after the Corona outbreak.

The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh had confiscated the properties of many protesters, accusing them of being involved in violence and riots, against which the Supreme Court today issued a major order.
