Big blow for the Indian team! Shreyas Iyer may be out of ODI series against Australia

The Indian team’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer may be ruled out of the ODI series against Australia. In the fourth Test match being played in Ahmedabad, Iyer missed out on batting in the first innings for the Indian team due to back pain and may now miss the three-match ODI series which begins on Friday, March 17.

According to a statement issued by the BCCI regarding Iyer on Sunday morning, “Shreyas Iyer complained of lower back pain after the game on the third day. He has gone for a scan and is being monitored by the BCCI medical team.” According to Cricbuzz, Iyer’s scan results have not been so good and he will need to see a specialist and undergo some additional tests.

The national selectors, who are currently based in Ahmedabad, have been briefed on the situation and will now make a decision on whether to retain Iyer for the ODI series or replace him with a new player. They can meet about this after the fourth task.
