Biden calls during Easter to have “faith, hope and love”

Washington (BLAZETRENDS).- The president of the United States, Joe Biden, made this Easter Sunday an appeal to have “faith, hope and love”, as well as to think about the poor and the persecuted.

“Today we celebrate the Easter message that nothing, not even death, can match the power of faith, hope and love,” Biden, the second Catholic American president after John F. Kennedy, said in a statement.

The president said that both he and first lady Jill Biden joined Catholics around the world in celebrating Easter Sunday.

“We remember the sacrifice of Jesus and commit to love God with all our hearts, love our neighbors as ourselves, and treat one another with compassion,” he explained.

Biden stressed that during Lent, and especially on Good Friday, Catholics hold in their hearts “those who suffer threats of violence and persecution, pain, isolation, disease and poverty, among other hardships.”
