Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh and her father Bipin Singh have been summoned to court. A court in Begusarai has issued a summons to both of them in connection with a cheating case filed by the organizers of a stage show. The case dates back to October 2023.
Background of the Case
The organizers had hired Akshara to perform at a Durga Puja celebration. The event took place in a village near Samastipur. Akshara was paid ₹5.51 lakh for her performance. However, things took a turn when audience members started throwing money at her during the show. She became upset.
Akshara threw the mic and left the stage. The organizers claimed she performed for just half an hour instead of the agreed three hours. The advance payment of around ₹5 lakh had already been sent to her father’s account.
Organizers’ Losses
The organizers felt they had suffered significant losses due to Akshara’s abrupt departure. They argued that they weren’t responsible for the audience’s actions. Despite their pleas, Akshara refused to continue the show and left immediately.
The First Class Judicial Magistrate, Om Prakash, issued the summons on April 19. Akshara and her father are now required to appear in court to face the cheating charges.
