Shubhangi Atre, known for her role in ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, is dealing with a personal loss. Her ex-husband, Piyush Poore, has passed away after being ill for some time. ETimes tried to reach out to her for a statement, but she asked for time to process her emotions.
A Long and Complicated History
Shubhangi and Piyush were married for many years before they decided to part ways. In 2023, they released a joint statement saying they wanted to live separately but wouldn’t file for divorce because of their daughter, Aashi. The couple had been living apart since 2022. Shubhangi eventually filed for divorce, which was finalized on February 5, 2025. She told ETimes that the divorce was a painful process, but she felt relieved and free afterward. She now wants to focus on her daughter’s well-being. In fact, Shubhangi had previously stated that she wasn’t considering remarriage, prioritizing her daughter’s needs instead.
Piyush’s Professional Background
Before his passing, Piyush worked in various media houses. He started his career at Navbharat Press Limited in Mumbai in 2007 as a marketing manager. He later moved to a media house in Jharkhand and Bihar, now known as Prabhat Khabar, where he worked as a senior marketing manager. From 2015 to 2017, Piyush worked with other prominent media houses and eventually became a business head.
Aashi: Shubhangi’s Priority
Shubhangi became a mother at 22 when Aashi was born. Now 18, Aashi is studying astrophysics in the US. Shubhangi and Aashi share a close, friendly bond. Shubhangi wants Aashi to live life on her own terms and make her own decisions. As of now, Shubhangi hasn’t publicly commented on Piyush’s passing.
