Bengali Actor Riju Biswas Accused of Harassment for ‘You Look Good in Saree’ Messages

Bengali actor Riju Biswas is facing a police complaint following a social media controversy. He allegedly sent unsolicited messages to multiple women, often complimenting them with phrases such as, “You look good in a saree.” The issue has sparked significant public debate.

The controversy began when a woman publicly shared a screenshot of a direct message she received from Biswas. This prompted numerous other women to come forward with similar screenshots, revealing a pattern of identical messages.

Accusations against the 37-year-old actor include sending flirtatious and harassing messages to hundreds of women on various social media platforms. Some screenshots date back years, with one nutritionist posting a message from 2019 sent at 4:09 AM. Another woman shared a screenshot from 2017.

Biswas has admitted sending the messages. However, he maintains that his intentions were harmless. In a video statement, he explained that he sees no issue with offering a simple compliment, stating he even tells his mother she looks good in a saree.

Amid the backlash, Biswas has also filed his own police complaint. He alleges “harassment” and “violation of privacy” by those sharing the screenshots and criticizing him online.

The incident has generated a wave of memes on social media, with many users jokingly referring to his actions as a “copy-paste mission.” Public opinion remains divided, with some fans supporting the actor while others voice strong condemnation.
