Ten players from Portuguese football club Benfica have received call-ups for various national teams, signaling significant international recognition and potential squad adjustments for the club.
Among the call-ups, Argentine winger Gianluca Prestianni earned his first senior national team selection from coach Lionel Scaloni, marking a notable milestone in his career.
This brings the total number of internationals from Benfica to ten, including key senior players like Portugal’s António Silva and Belgium’s Dodi Lukebakio. Many will join youth squads.
Veteran defender Nicolás Otamendi also received a senior call-up, along with midfielder Leandro Barreiro. Rafael Obrador was selected for Spain’s U21 squad.
Additional youth team selections include João Rego and Gonçalo Oliveira for Portugal’s U21 team, João Veloso for Portugal’s U20s, and Diogo Ferreira for Portugal’s U19s.
