Martim Mayer, a manager with his sights set on leading Benfica, is once again pressing for clarity. He wants BTV, the club’s own television channel, to reveal its plans. Specifically, he’s asking about debates among the candidates for club president.
Mayer initially sent this request a full week ago. Yet, he states, no reply has landed in his inbox. The silence is a growing concern for his campaign. “A week has passed,” Mayer declared, “and we still have no reply from BTV to our email.”
This lack of communication has sparked a renewed appeal. Today, Mayer reinforced his call for BTV to explain its position on hosting election debates. He firmly believes these discussions are crucial for the club’s democratic health.
Mayer argues that BTV holds a special place. As Benfica’s official channel, it has a duty. It should be the place where club democracy is openly discussed and promoted. He expects the channel to provide top-notch, unbiased information to all club members.
The candidate for the Eagles’ leadership stressed his message again. “We are reinforcing our request for clarification from BTV today,” he said. Mayer hopes for a different outcome this time. “We hope that this time, we might finally get a response,” he added, emphasizing the need for transparency in the club’s electoral process.
