Benfica crushed Ovarense 103-71, racking up over 100 points and a 30-point lead. This win at Pavilhão da Luz sealed their second victory in the playoff semifinals.
They dominated the game with scores of 28-21, 25-17, 35-21, and 15-12 in each period.
After the first two periods, it was clear Benfica was in control. But they really took off in the third, maxing out their offense and defense.
This let them score 35 points in just 10 minutes.
Aaron Broussard led Benfica with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Trey Drechsel added 23 points and 5 steals. Nico Carvacho chipped in with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Daniel Oladapo scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Ovarense.
The series is best two out of three. The next game is Thursday at 7 PM in Ovar. If Benfica wins, they’re in the final. If Ovarense wins, they get to host the next game too.
In the other semifinal, FC Porto faces Sporting on Sunday. Porto won the first game 91-81 on Friday.
