Reaching the halfway point of the agreed 72-hole course of the Corales Puntacana Championship, the North American Ben Martin looks unstoppable and continues at the top of the board of the PGA TOUR event that is being played for the fifth time in Punta Cana.
In the first round Martin made 66 strokes (-6), and in the second he repeated the score at the rate of 8 birdies and two bogeys, for a total of -12. Alex Smalley (-10) appears behind him by two strokes, and his compatriots Adam Schlenk and Chad Ramey are in third place with -9. Among the notable names that will be at the weekend are the 2019 champion, Grame McDowell (-8), Nate Lashley (-8), Cameron Piercy, and Bill Hass (5). Joel Dahmen, the defending champion of the tournament, had to withdraw in the second round due to muscular discomfort.

Unfortunately, the Creole representation was left out of the weekend, as none could overcome the cut set at -1. Those who were closest were Willy Pumarol and Juan José Guerra, both with equal rounds of 74 and 71 (+1). They are followed by Manuel Relancio, who made rounds of 74 and 75 (+5), and Hiram Silfa with 80 and 74 (+10).
The action continues until Sunday, when a new event champion will be crowned.
