Bednarek, Kiwior, Froholdt Rest Day – B-Team Joins Main Squad Training

A European club’s main squad is navigating player transitions and injuries following the international break, even as its training facility has been formally renamed in honor of a former player.

Polish defenders Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior, along with Danish midfielder Emil Froholdt, were granted a day of rest on Tuesday by coach Francesco Farioli upon their return from national team duties. Their absence from immediate training highlights the adjustments clubs face as players rejoin from international commitments.

Several other international players were still absent from the main squad’s training session. Additionally, the team is managing injuries to key players Nehuén Pérez and Luuk de Jong, who did not participate.

To compensate for absences, several players from the B-team were integrated into the main group for training. This included Luís Gomes, Tiago Silva, João Teixeira, Kauê Rodrigues, and Vonic.

The training center itself has been officially renamed after former central defender Jorge Costa. A tribute ceremony for Costa was held, acknowledging his contributions to the club’s history. The main squad continued their training sessions at this newly dedicated facility.
