Becky G honors her Mexican heritage with

Multi-platinum singer, songwriter, actress and activist, Becky G, continues to explore new sounds while delving into her Mexican heritage, this time with the release of her single “La Nena” featuring Mexican singer-songwriter Gabito Ballesteros. After building anticipation for the collaboration on social media over the past week, Becky presents the song via Kemosabe Records / Sony Music Latin / RCA Records. From trumpets to strings, the catchy rhythm of the track is complemented by the harmonious vocals of Becky G and Gabito to create an anthem for summer. “La Nena” is now available on all digital platforms.

Written and produced by Edgar Barrera and Gabito Ballesteros, the single is the star’s latest corrido that takes another look at what’s to come on the Latin Grammy®-nominated star’s next album. The lyrics tell the story of an empowered woman who decides to keep dancing through life despite being heartbroken. Set in a nightclub, the video was produced by WeOwnTheCity and directed by Santiago Lafee. It also marks the first time Becky has been creative director of a video alongside Daniela Matos. Becky takes the stage not only to sing her own verses, but also to dance in a diamond-studded pink outfit that illustrates her ability to conquer the club. Gabito owns the part of him crooning his lyrics praising “La Nena” and at one point becomes mesmerized by one of the dancers, symbolizing La Nena’s power over the club.

“La Nena” follows Becky G’s 8 nominations for Univision’s Premios Juventud and the announcement of her role as the voice of Khaji-Da in the upcoming DC superhero movie, “Blue Beetle.” This month, Becky also released her single “The Fire Inside,” which is featured on the soundtrack to the Searchlight Pictures film “Flamin’ Hot,” directed by Eva Longoria.
