India’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said the return of Jasprit Bumrah has strengthened their fast bowling and it will be great for the team to have four fully fit fast bowlers ahead of next month’s World Cup. Bumrah made a comeback after a long injury layoff during the recent Ireland tour and then impressed with his bowling during the ongoing Asia Cup. Ahead of India’s final Super 4 match against Bangladesh, Mhambrey said that we have been monitoring Bumrah’s progress in the NCA and are happy with his report.
For this reason I can’t get a place
Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said we have four excellent bowlers now and it is always good to have such options. It’s good to have a problem like this. India’s premier fast bowling attack consists of Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya, forcing the team management to bench Mohammed Shami. Mhambrey said it was not that easy to keep a bowler like Shami out. The amount of experience he has and the achievements he has made for the country are fantastic. It’s never easy to release a player like that. This is difficult. The players are aware of our decisions. They know it’s only for the good of the team.
Hardik performed brilliantly
Paras Mhambrey is very happy that Hardik Pandya has been doing very well as a bowler of late. He said I am very happy with Hardik’s progress. We watch him bowl and make sure he stays fit. Once he bowls at 140 kmph, he is a completely different type of bowler. From a team perspective, we have a wicket bowler.
