BCCI Shocks Punjab Kings, PBKS vs DC Match to be Restarted, Not Resumed.

Punjab Kings were on the brink of securing a playoff spot when their match against Delhi Capitals was stopped due to IPL 2025 being postponed. At that point, Punjab Kings were batting first and had scored 122 runs in 10.1 overs. Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, Punjab Kings have been performing exceptionally well this season, winning 7 out of 11 matches, with 3 losses and 1 no-result. With 15 points, they are currently third on the points table. Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, are also in the playoff race, but their bowlers struggled against Punjab in the abandoned match.

Match Restarted from Scratch

The big question on everyone’s mind was whether the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match would resume from where it was left off or start afresh. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now announced the new schedule, and the match will start from the first ball. This means the match will be replayed entirely.

The rescheduled match will take place on Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 PM at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Punjab Kings will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of having their match abandoned and capitalize on the opportunity to secure a playoff spot.

IPL 2025 Schedule Update

The remaining league-stage matches of IPL 2025 will commence on May 17, with the first match being Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru. The 13 remaining matches will be played across 6 venues, including 2 double-headers. While the date for the playoff matches has been announced, the venues are yet to be decided. The highly anticipated final is scheduled to take place on June 3.
