On Monday, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah announced a big increase in prize money from domestic cricket tournaments. Now, after this announcement, the prize money of the team that won the Ranji Trophy tournament has almost doubled. While in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the prize money of the winner and the second team has increased up to three times. There has also been a huge increase in the number of women’s cricket. Now the players will get almost eight times more money than before. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah gave this information in a tweet.

Actually, until now, the team that won the Ranji Trophy used to get two crores as prize money, but now it has been increased to five crores. Previously, the losing team in the Ranji Trophy final used to get Rs 1 crore, but now they will get Rs 3 crore. Apart from this, Rs 50 lakh will also be given to the team that reaches the semi-finals. The winner of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the second biggest tournament in domestic cricket, used to fetch Rs 30 lakh earlier but now Rs 1 crore will be awarded. While the second number team will get Rs 50 lakh instead of Rs 15 lakh.
