BCCI Reschedules Key Meeting Ahead of IPL 2025 Season

The BCCI central contract list has been making headlines lately. A meeting of BCCI officials was set to take place in Guwahati on March 29 to discuss the list. However, a recent media report revealed that the meeting has been postponed for now. The meeting was expected to discuss the future of the Indian cricket team.

According to a report by India Today, BCCI officials were scheduled to meet with Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar to discuss the central contract list. The meeting was also expected to discuss the Test team captaincy, currently held by Rohit Sharma. The report suggests that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja will remain in the A+ category of the central contract list. However, Rohit Sharma’s Test career is under a cloud.

Kohli had reportedly been in touch with selectors about his future in Test cricket. The upcoming England tour could be crucial for him, with success or failure potentially deciding his future. There were also expectations that Shreyas Iyer could make a comeback to the central contract list, having been dropped last year due to not playing domestic cricket.

The England tour, set to take place a few weeks after the conclusion of IPL 2025, was also expected to be discussed in the BCCI meeting. The Indian team is scheduled to play a five-Test series in England, and the meeting could have touched upon the selection of players for the tour. With the meeting postponed, the new date and discussions surrounding the central contract list and England tour remain uncertain.
