India’s top 20 players selected for ODI World Cup 2023

The ODI World Cup 2023 will be held in India in the month of October to November. The Indian team started preparing for ODI cricket from the last month of the year 2022. In the same episode, a BCCI review meeting was held on the first day of the new year. In accordance with an important decision made at this meeting, 20 potential players have been selected for the World Cup. As per the decision taken at the meeting, these 20 players will rotate in ODI cricket throughout the year and the final squad will be prepared from this.

Let us tell you that there was a BCCI review meeting in Mumbai on Sunday 1st January which was attended by Chairman Roger Binny, India Team Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Captain Rohit Sharma, NCA VVS Chief Laxman and former head coach Chetan Sharma. At this meeting it was decided to make the Yo-Yo test and the DEXA test mandatory. On the other hand, according to Cricbuzz’s report, in view of the upcoming World Cup, BCCI made a big decision and selected 20 players who are part of the India team’s World Cup plan. However, the names of these players have yet to be released, which may come out soon. An official announcement in this regard by the board is also expected.

Player availability issues, workload management and fitness parameters were also discussed in detail during the BCCI meeting along with the roadmap for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Let us tell you that for India will host the entire World Cup alone for the first time. Incidentally, India’s last ODI World Cup title came at home in 2011. At the same time, since 2013, the team has not won any ICC trophy. In such a situation, the board is now ready to take all drastic steps to end this almost decade-long wait.

Big decision on IPL 2023 too

The workload of India’s key players, especially those prone to injury, will be monitored “jointly” by the BCCI National Cricket Academy and IPL franchises during IPL 2023. This is in line with the new BCCI policy managing the player workload ahead of the 50+ World Cup in October and November and the World Test Championship final in June. That is, now BCCI can also prevent players from participating in IPL to reduce their workload.
