The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a warning to all 10 teams participating in IPL 2025. A Hyderabad-based businessman is reportedly contacting people to carry out illegal activities. According to a media report, the BCCI has asked all cricketers, coaches, commentators, and support staff to be cautious about this businessman. He is in touch with several bookies and tries to influence people by giving them expensive gifts during the tournament.
How the Businessman Operates
The businessman typically tries to contact team owners, players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators’ family members first. The Anti-Corruption Unit believes he has been involved in illegal activities before. He attends IPL matches at the stadiums, pretending to be a fan, and tries to connect with players, coaches, and commentators. He has been spotted at team hotels and stadiums, inviting players and staff to private parties and gifting them jewelry and other expensive items.
The BCCI has asked all teams and players participating in IPL 2025 to cooperate. The board is against match-fixing and is committed to maintaining the integrity of cricket.
