BCCI Invites Operation Sindhu Heroes to IPL Final Ceremony

The stage is set for the IPL 2025 final on June 3 at the stadium in Ahmedabad. But this year’s championship match is about more than just cricket. The BCCI has a special plan to honor the heroes of Operation Sindoor.

During the closing ceremony, the bravery of these heroes will be recognized. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia announced this in a media statement. Saikia told PTI on Tuesday, “We’ve invited the heads of all Indian armed forces, top officials, and soldiers to the IPL final in Ahmedabad to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor.”

A Tribute to Bravery

Saikia said the BCCI salutes the “bravery, courage, and selfless service” of the country’s armed forces. He praised the heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor, which defended the nation and inspired it. As a token of appreciation, the BCCI has decided to dedicate the closing ceremony to the armed forces and honor its heroes.

Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor was launched after a terrorist attack on April 22 that killed 26 people, mostly tourists. India took action, leading to a brief military clash between the two long-time rivals. After Pakistan requested a ceasefire, India agreed to halt its operation. The heads of the armed forces, including General Upendra Dwivedi, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, will be in attendance.

The IPL final will be a celebration of cricket, but also a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of India’s armed forces.
