The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the central contract list for the 2024-2025 season, and some big names have been affected. The list shows who’s in and who’s out, and the changes are telling.
Big Names Stay Put
Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket have kept their spots. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja are still at the top. Mohammad Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammad Shami are also still in the top grade.
New Faces and Surprises
Some new faces have made it into the list. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who had a rough patch last year, are back in. Iyer has been put in Grade B, which means he’ll get 3 crore rupees a year. Kishan has made it into Grade C, with a salary of 1 crore rupees.
Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A, which is a big deal. He’ll now get 5 crore rupees a year.
Who’s Out?
Some players have been demoted or dropped altogether. Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Varun Chakravarthy are new additions to the list, but Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharat, and Avesh Khan are out. They were all in Grade C last year.
Here’s the breakdown of the central contract list:
- Grade A: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Shami, Rishabh Pant
