BCCI AGM to be held on October 18, Sourav Ganguly’s fate hangs in the balance

The annual general meeting of the Cricket Board of Control in India will be held on October 18. This will be BCCI’s first AGM after the recent Supreme Court verdict and there are signs of many major changes to it. The biggest question at this BCCI meeting is about the fate of Sourav Ganguly. The report of the English newspaper Indian Express has claimed that Jay Shah may become the next president of BCCI.

Actually, BCCI’s annual general meeting was going to be held in the last week of September. But due to the big decision to be made regarding Sourav Ganguly, the AGM is now scheduled for October 18th. According to the Cricbuzz report, AK has returned to the position of electrical officer and will also send a notification about it.

The Cricbuzz report also stated that the BCCI secretary will soon send out a notification about the AGM. It has also been stated in the report that elections for all positions in BCCI will take place on the same day after the AGM.

The Indian Express report had earlier claimed that Jay Shah could become the next president of BCCI. In the report, Jay Shah was cited for gaining the support of 15 state cricket boards. Sourav Ganguly’s term as BCCI president may come to an end with Jay Shah’s participation in the elections.

We reported that in October 2019, Sourav Ganguly was elected president of BCCI for 9 months in a very dramatic way. But because the matter of BCCI’s constitution was in the Supreme Court, Sourav Ganguly remained in the post of president for three years.
