BB19: MasterChef Winner Gaurav Khanna Claims He Can’t Cook, Raises Questions.

The Bigg Boss 19 house is always buzzing with drama, and this season is no different. The latest stir involves popular contestant Gaurav Khanna, a familiar face who once snagged the coveted Celebrity MasterChef title. Now, a video clip is making the rounds, showing Gaurav dropping a bombshell confession: he can’t cook. This has left fans and viewers scratching their heads, wondering about his culinary competition win.

The unexpected revelation unfolded when house captain Kunika Sadanand was assigning chores. She tasked Gaurav with kitchen duty, a seemingly perfect fit for a MasterChef champion. But Gaurav politely, yet firmly, refused. He told Kunika, “Madam, I won’t come.” He then explained, “I don’t know how to cook Indian food. The housemates would go hungry all day.” After his surprising admission, Kunika swapped his duty. She then assigned Gaurav the job of cleaning the washroom with fellow contestant Zeeshan Qadri. This whole scene has sparked a lively debate. Many are now questioning if the Celebrity MasterChef show itself might have been scripted.

Gaurav later discussed the issue with Mridul Tiwari in another video. He clarified his position further. “I don’t feel like cooking,” he stated. “And I truly don’t know how to cook Indian food.” He then added, “I didn’t participate in Celebrity MasterChef for a show like this. Nobody tells an actor to just act all day. People saw my cooking skills on that show. Here, on Bigg Boss, they need to see my personality.”

As the chatter grew, Gaurav Khanna’s team stepped in to clear the air. They released a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The post explained the key differences between the two cooking environments. It stated, “MasterChef and Bigg Boss cooking aren’t the same. On MasterChef, Gaurav Khanna cooked with guidance. He prepared excellent, plated dishes. In Bigg Boss, it’s about making daily meals for many people, often without supervision.” The team also shared that Gaurav had never cooked before Celebrity MasterChef. “That show was about learning, adapting, and performing under great pressure,” the statement continued. “His win was due to his determination, not pre-existing skill. It’s unfair to judge him based on one comment about Indian food today.”

As these culinary controversies simmer, the Bigg Boss house is gearing up for its first “Weekend Ka Vaar.” A new promo shows host Salman Khan taking contestant Praneet More to task. It seems the drama, both in and out of the kitchen, is just getting started.
