Vincent Kompany has secured a contract extension with Bayern Munich until 2029, a move that solidifies his leadership following an immediate and dominant impact since joining the German football giants.
The Belgian manager, 39, arrived in Bavaria in 2024. He quickly recovered the Bundesliga title, which had been lost to Bayer Leverkusen.
This season, he also secured the Supercup. His team currently leads the championship with an undefeated record, having won all its matches.
The new deal extends his previous contract, which was set to expire in 2027.
“I feel grateful, honored, and would like to thank Bayern Munich for the trust and the working environment they have provided me since day one,” Kompany said in a statement. “I feel like I’ve been here much longer and know the club well. It has been a great experience so far. We have started a wonderful journey. We will continue to work hard and celebrate much more success!”
