Bautista ponders athletes, coaches and leaders, thanks the government and Creso

The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), engineer Garibaldy Bautista, praised the effort and dedication of the athletes together with the coaches and federated leaders to achieve the unprecedented success obtained in the recently closed XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

The engineer Bautista also praised the support offered by President Luis Abinader, as well as by the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, and the support of the CRESO program.

“It has been a great job that we attribute to the athletes, mainly, who are the protagonists of this great result that the country has had in San Salvador, along with the support of the Government and the Ministry of Sports,” added the head of the COD.

The Bautista engineer said that the COD only manages the organization of the delegation and that success corresponds to the athletes, coaches and presidents of federations.

“I am very satisfied with the great work done. We have achieved a great feat for Dominican sports”, insisted the top Olympic leader.

Giving credit to the commitment and dedication of the athletes, coaches and leaders of the federations, Bautista said that this allows the sport to continue growing and having results that fill the nation with pride.

The Dominican Republic had an outstanding participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games, which concluded on Saturday in El Salvador, where the country won a total of 111 medals and finished fifth in the regional multi-sport event.

The 111 medals won by athletes in El Salvador, which included 25 gold, 36 silver and 50 bronze, surpassed the 107 that the country achieved at the Central American and Caribbean Games held in 2018 in Barranquilla, Colombia, where the nation added 25 gold medals, 29 silver and 53 bronze.
