Battlefield 6 Producer: Bad Company 2 Destruction Inspires New Game

For a while now, players have been dreaming of the Battlefield series getting back to its roots. Fans have hoped for a return to the glory days of the past. It seems their wishes might be coming true. The team behind the new Battlefield game has confirmed a major inspiration. They are looking to one of the most popular games in the series for ideas.

Jeremy Chubb, who leads the multiplayer team and serves as a producer, shared some exciting details. He spoke with PC Gamer during a Battlefield 6 event last week. Chubb revealed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a key influence for the upcoming game. The heart of Bad Company 2 was its incredible destruction system. This feature offered a truly unique playing experience.

“When you search for excellence in our history, you will find it in Bad Company 2,” Chubb explained to PC Gamer. He went on to describe the game’s detailed destruction. “That game offered a deep sense of realism when things blew up. You could destroy one wall, part of a building, or even an entire structure.” He believes this made the game stand out from other Battlefield titles.

Chubb openly admitted that this level of destruction was absent in more recent games. “We know this feature was missing in past installments,” he said. “We really want to bring that kind of gameplay back for our players.” It sounds like the developers are listening to their community. They are ready to deliver what fans have missed.

Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at the same time. Players can get an early taste of the game. A Closed Beta test will kick off on August 7.
