Battlefield 6 Beta Player Count Surpasses Call of Duty, Sets Steam Record

A new challenger has arrived in the world of online shooters. Even before its full release, the Battlefield 6 Open Beta is already making waves. Recent data from SteamDB, a reliable source for Steam game statistics, shows the game hit a massive player count.

The beta reached a peak of 521,079 people playing at the same time on Steam. This number is a huge achievement. It actually beat the previous record set by Call of Duty on Steam. Call of Duty’s highest count was 491,670 players, back in November 2022. This also puts the Battlefield 6 Open Beta at number 18 on Steam’s all-time concurrent player list, just behind Path of Exile 2. It’s quite impressive, especially since it’s just a beta version.

Of course, these numbers only reflect players on Steam. Battlefield 6’s Open Beta is available on many different platforms. Similarly, many Call of Duty players connect through Battle.net or Game Pass. Still, the Steam figures give us a clear picture. They show just how much interest gamers worldwide have in this new title. This success builds high hopes for the final game to launch smoothly and without major issues.

The full version of Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Right now, anyone can jump into the Open Beta without a special code. This testing period runs until August 11. Another beta session is scheduled for August 14 through August 17.
