Until then, the Swedish developers had kept the ultimate game mode of their next title a secret, but that’s it, The first official Hazard Zone mode trailer has just arrived on the web.

The opportunity to learn more about this game mode that will put tactics and cooperation at the center of the experience. The principle is simple: several squads of four soldiers (to be chosen among the various game specialists) are deployed on one of the huge maps of Battlefield 2042.

Hazard Zone: When Battlefield Turns Into Tactical FPS

Their mission? Locate the crash sites of the various satellites that entered the atmosphere at the start of the game. You will then have to go there to recover valuable hard drives contained in a satellite slot. Once in possession of this data, it will be necessary to go to one of the available extraction points and wait for the arrival of the helicopter to extract itself with the cargo.

But of course, this objective is valid for all the other teams present on the server, and they will not hesitate to take you down to reach their end. When a member of your squad is down, it will be possible to revive them for a short time. If it is completed by the enemy, it will then be necessary to find a bonus on the map called “Call for reinforcements”, which will allow your teammate to come back to life.

Each successful extraction will earn points for each team member. Points that can then be spent in a black market dedicated to Hazard Zone mode, in which it will be possible to buy various bonuses and accessories, such as instant resuscitation, accelerated healing kits, or a holster allowing you to change weapons more quickly.

These bonuses will last as long as you win games, conversely they will disappear on the first defeat. Hopefully, however, their effectiveness in the field will not be too pronounced, so as not to create too great an imbalance between beginners and more experienced players. As a reminder, Battlefield 2042 should arrive on consoles and PC on November 19, 2021. A few days after a certain Call of Duty Vanguard, scheduled for November 5.
