Battaglia: "I can look everyone in the face"

The coach Sebastián Battaglia said goodbye to the Boca squad this Thursday and assured that he is leaving “consistent” with the La Ribera club, to which he left “two titles”, while remarking that he can “look everyone in the face” due to to “loyalty” that he had during his stay in the entity and confirmed that the meeting took place at a service station.

“I came to say goodbye to the players. I am satisfied with what this stage was like, leaving two titles and two more stars to the institution,” Battaglia said at an impromptu press conference outside the Ezeiza venue, after which he stated: ” I can look everyone in the face and I know that if I come across anyone, I can say hello because of the loyalty I had with everyone.”

In addition, the former midfielder made it clear that he always tried to prioritize the best for the team, regardless of the circumstances he had to go through. “It has been a long road where we had good moments and bad moments that had to be overcome, but always thinking of the best for the group and for Boca. I thanked the players for their dedication and I thank the people of Boca because they always encourages,” said Battaglia, who discredited the versions of conflict with some footballer: “None of the players told me anything and he can look them all in the face.”

As for his surprise departure, the coach clarified that he was fired during a meeting he had with two members of the Football Council at a service station. “They told me that he was no longer going to be in charge of the team” and, when asked if the meeting was held at a service station, he revealed: “That’s it guys, it was like that, it happened that way.”
