Barracas Central and Acassuso are looking for a rival for River in the Argentine Cup

Barracas Central will play this Thursday against Acassuso, from Primera B, in a match for the 32nd final of the Argentine Cup and from which River’s rival will emerge in the next phase. The match will be played starting at 5:10 p.m. at the Ciudad de Caseros stadium (of Estudiantes de Buenos Aires) and will be televised by TyC Sports.

Later, from 8:10 p.m. on the Colón de Santa Fe court and also by TyC Sports, Patronato and Deportivo Morón, from the First National, will do the same to define their key and find a rival for the already classified Sabalero.

Barracas, led by Alfredo Berti, had a great campaign in the League Cup with 19 points, one behind Aldosivi, fourth-placed in his area. At the beginning of the contest, Rodolfo De Paoli (who took him to the First Division) was the DT, replaced on the fifth date by Berti, who added six wins, one draw and three setbacks.

The important thing for Barracas is that it is 12th in the table of averages, well away from the two relegation places.

Acassuso, directed by Jorge “Morrón” Benítez, is 10th in B, nine units behind the leading Communications and Ituzaingó, with the aim of qualifying for the Reduced due to promotion.

In Santa Fe, Patronato, with Facundo Sava as DT, will try to advance in the Argentine Cup while it has the worst average and is descending to the First National. The Paraná team was also last in Zone A of the League Cup, along with Platense, but worse goal difference.

While Deportivo Morón is 24th in the National, 19 points behind Belgrano and aspires to have a chance of being among the first 13 that will play the Reduced for the second promotion. In Morón, former midfielder Walter Coyette is the coach who has just replaced outgoing Alejandro Orfila.
