At least 17 people were killed and 25 injured in a horrific traffic accident in which the bus hit a highway divider and fell off the side of the road into a deep ditch.
According to foreign media reports, the police say that the accident took place at 8 am local time in Shabchar area of southern Bangladesh.
According to AFP, local police chief Masood Alam confirmed that 17 people were killed in the accident, and the injured were taken to area hospitals.
It should be noted that most of the traffic accidents in Bangladesh occur due to old and defective vehicles and roads, as well as lack of proper training of drivers.
