A historic collaboration between two major gaming events has positioned Bangkok as a burgeoning hub for the global digital entertainment industry, drawing over 200,000 participants and significant government endorsement.
The gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2025, held from October 16-19, marked the first time Thailand co-hosted gamescom asia. This unprecedented merger of two of Asia’s largest gaming expos elevated the country’s profile in the global digital content sector.
Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Supajee Suthumphan, lauded the event’s success during the closing ceremony. Her remarks underscored the government’s recognition of the gaming industry’s importance to the nation’s digital economy.
The combined exhibition, themed “World of Gaming,” transformed more than 30,000 square meters across three halls of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It featured both business and entertainment zones.
Over 150 major game companies participated, including industry giants like CAPCOM, HoYoverse, Xbox, PlayStation, and Bandai Namco. Attendees from Thailand and abroad gave overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many calling it the best iteration of the event to date.
Organizers stated the event was a crucial step in connecting game developers, investors, and industry leaders from around the world in Bangkok. It leveraged the strengths of both gamescom asia and Thailand Game Show.
The successful collaboration involved key players such as Show No Limit Co., Ltd., True Digital Group, Koelnmesse, depa, and DITP. Representatives from these organizations, including Pongsuk Hiranprueck from Show No Limit Co. and Mathias Kuepper from Koelnmesse, acknowledged the broad support from sponsors, government agencies, and business partners.
Organizers also thanked the more than 206,159 participants who attended the four-day event.
The next iteration, gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026, is scheduled for October 29 to November 1, 2026. It will again take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.
