Banco Popular, chosen as the best company to work for in the Dominican Republic

Banco Popular Dominicano was chosen as the best company to work for in the country, according to the results of the study carried out every year by Mercado magazine, which evaluates the level of satisfaction of employees of national and multinational companies based in the country.

It is the eleventh consecutive time that Banco Popular has received this recognition and, according to Mercado magazine, this is due to the fact that “Popular has developed strategies for its employees under a model based on five fundamental axes: physical, financial, social, professional and emotional well-being, made up of programs that respond to each of these aspects”.

The institution leads the number of employees of private equity financial entities, with a workforce that averages close to 7,889 collaborators, showing a satisfaction rate of 91%.

In its edition, Mercado highlights the opportunities for career development and well-being that the company offers its employees. Its collaborators received 1.3 million hours of training and educational activities last year, thus demonstrating that its people are its most valuable capital and that they promote an environment of permanent personal and professional growth, thanks to which “a favorable and stimulating climate is created for the achievement of organizational objectives”.

Initiatives focused on improving overall personal and family well-being, as well as professional development, include benefit programs, education and training, physical and emotional well-being initiatives with spaces such as the Wellness Center and lactation rooms or the “Popular for All” inclusion program for people with disabilities.

Actions

The financial organization also offers its collaborators actions to identify and support individual and family needs, special credit conditions, health and life insurance, preventive health programs, clubs related to the particular interests of employees (sports, photography, reading, etc.), productivity incentives, dynamic groups focused on the agile adoption of changes, digital transformation and permanent learning, as well as actions and programs to enhance the individual capacities of collaborators, such as coaching and mentoring, among other aspects.

The link with collaborators is consolidated through ContiGo, an institutional strategy that covers different areas, with versatile and easy-to-use digital spaces that unify the human and talent management platforms.

In the event of the publication that served to present the results of this year’s ranking, Mrs. Antonia Antón de Hernández, Senior Executive Vice President of Human Management, Cultural Transformation, Credit Administration and Compliance of Popular, participated, who thanked the distinction and expressed during an interview that “at Popular we are a company that believes in its human talent, because our collaborators are the soul and pillars of the organization.”
