KABUL: The government of the Islamic Emirate has announced a complete ban on foreign currency transactions for trade in Afghanistan.

According to Afghan media reports, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan Taliban, issued a directive to all traders on Wednesday, instructing them to refrain from using foreign currency for trade and transactions. Is.

He said local traders would be prosecuted if they used foreign currency.

The spokesman directed all citizens, including local shopkeepers, traders and businessmen, to immediately conduct all transactions in Afghani currency and refrain from using foreign currency.

It may be recalled that despite the withdrawal of foreign troops in Afghanistan, local traders in the country are also transacting in US dollars.
