Baioo Family Interactive Chairman Dai Jian buys 300,000 shares to fight multi-year slump

Chinese gaming publisher Baioo Family Interactive is attempting to project stability after a bruising five-year earnings slide. Chairman and Executive Director Dai Jian aggressively expanded his personal stake on Wednesday. He purchased 300,000 shares on the open market.

The acquisition was executed through Stmoritz Investment Limited, an entity indirectly controlled by Dai. The shares were bought at an average price of HK$0.425 each. This move brings Stmoritz’s total holdings to roughly 24% of Baioo’s issued share capital, accounting for nearly 689 million shares.

This single transaction is actually the tail end of a sudden executive buying spree. From March 30 to April 1, Dai accumulated 996,000 total shares, according to corporate filings published on Thursday.

The digital entertainment company, known for niche youth and female-oriented mobile games in China, desperately needs positive market sentiment. Baioo suffered a massive 74.5% annual earnings drop over the past five years. They recently posted a trailing twelve-month loss of ¥75.1 million. Yet, a faint glimmer of a turnaround appeared in early 2025 when the studio scratched out a ¥5.7 million half-year profit.

How Insider Accumulation Defends the Tencent-Backed Studio

Financial analysts view Dai’s steady buying as a strictly defensive governance maneuver. The company initiated aggressive share repurchase programs in 2023 to actively reduce public float. Piling direct executive purchases on top of those corporate buybacks restricts the available traded shares even further.

The strategy heavily relies on institutional patience. Tech giant Tencent currently holds an 11.8% stake in Baioo. Dai’s willingness to throw his own capital at the stock right now operates as a direct message to those major shareholders. It signals absolute long-term confidence in the core mobile gaming pipeline. Management is explicitly attempting to shift investor focus away from their recent isolated game-investment write-offs and toward future stabilization.
