Customers of the telecom provider Stc Bahrain can now also pay their bills in crypto. To this end, the telecom company has entered into a partnership with the payment provider ‘Eazy Financial Services’.
First in region
The Bahrain telecom operator is reportedly the first in the region to adopt crypto as a means of payment. In a statement the company announced that this is now possible through a partnership with Eazy Financial Services. Anyone who wants to could now pay their bills with the telecom provider by linking a Binance wallet to it.
The CEO of the telecom company, Nezar Banabeela, commented on the new partnership:
Rapid digitization around the world is transforming all aspects of our lives and payments are the most crucial element in this. From online shopping and video streaming to money transfers, almost every digital activity relies on a payment system.
Crypto payments may be the future
According to Banabeela, the adoption of crypto is also the next step to demonstrate “Stc Bahrain’s strong focus on advancing Bahrain’s fintech sector as world-class digital enablers.” The CEO of the telecom company believes that crypto is the future of payments and wants to make the crypto process seamless on their platform.
The CEO of Eazy Financial Services, in turn, indicated that the collaboration now allows crypto to be used as a secure means of payment, but in a “regulated, secure and extremely fast manner”. Reportedly, Binance Bahrain took the initiative. It is expected to contribute to the adoption of crypto in the jurisdiction.
