Bagnaia: "Everything comes easy for me and I don’t care wet or dry"

Second consecutive pole of Francesco Bagnaia, that in Aragon he was able to capture later in his first victory in MotoGP. At the San Marino GP, Pecco It is once again one of the favorites to win.

-Pole with record. What can you say?

-I feel very happy because a week ago we were in Aragon with very good feelings and here it is the same. I feel very good on the bike, everything is easy for me and it doesn’t matter if it’s wet or dry. We are ready for any condition.

-Opportunity to cut points from Quartararo?

-I prefer a dry race, without a doubt, because in the wet it is easier to make mistakes and this track does not have a very high grip. I know that in the wet I have more opportunities to reduce the lead, but 53 points are still a lot. We have to keep fighting to get points from Fabio. The normal thing is that tomorrow in the dry we will have a tough battle with Fabio, but the rest of Ducati will also be there … I hope I can do a race like in Aragon, lead from the start and impose my pace.

-Valentino Rossi says that when he thinks of you he sees you as a Ferrari. Can you see yourself painting the stands red when Vale is gone?

– Achieving what Vale has achieved is impossible. Something that I would like to do is transmit the same passion that he has done. I would love to have all that fans behind him, the ‘Popolo Giallo’. Someday I would like to have a hobby like that.

-Do you have extra motivation to come from winning in Aragon?

-Of course, the motivation has been higher after getting the first victory. But I always feel great passion when I get to the home circuit. I have done a lot of laps at this circuit with the Panigale. I love driving here, and that before I started coming here with the Academy I was one of the worst ones. It is a very technical circuit. And here the motivation is very high in front of all the fans. I feel very focused on tomorrow’s race and I would like to make the fans enjoy it.

-There are many mosquitoes on the track.

-Yes, at the beginning of FP3 it was incredible how many mosquitoes there were. But you have three ‘tear off’ so you can manage the session.

-We have seen many falls. What is the explanation?

-Maybe the track conditions. Last year we used the hard striker and it was going very well but this year it is more than hard. But the medium is too soft and you can lose the front end. I think this grip issue is one of the reasons. And also, on Wednesday and Thursday it rained with sand, and that affected the track conditions, which have worsened.
