Babar Azam Out for Duck, Mohammad Amir Takes Wicket in Peshawar Zalmi Match

Babar Azam’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign got off to a rough start as he was dismissed for a duck by Mohammad Amir in the second match of the tournament. The match, held in Rawalpindi, saw Quetta Gladiators take on Peshawar Zalmi, with the former emerging victorious by 80 runs.

Peshawar Zalmi, chasing a target of 217, was bowled out for 136 in 15.1 overs. Babar, who opened the innings, fell to Amir in the first over, caught out without scoring. Amir’s delivery caught Babar off guard, and he was unable to react in time.

Babar’s struggles against Amir continue

This was not the first time Babar has struggled against Amir in the PSL. In their five encounters in the tournament, Babar has managed just 19 runs off 21 balls. Amir’s ability to trouble Babar has been evident, and the latter’s dismissal in this match was a testament to that.

Amir’s celebrations after taking Babar’s wicket were animated, with him making a hand gesture as he walked off the field. The video of the dismissal and Amir’s reaction has gone viral on social media.

Quetta Gladiators’ dominance

Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers were instrumental in restricting Peshawar Zalmi to 136. Amir was one of the standout performers, taking two wickets, including Babar and Mitchell Owen. The Gladiators’ bowlers effectively checked the Zalmi batsmen, preventing them from building a substantial partnership.

The Gladiators’ victory marked a significant win for the team, and they will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming matches.
