Baahubali The Epic Earns $2.6M Opening Weekend Despite Strong Competition

“Baahubali The Epic,” an edited compilation of the original films, has generated $21.59 million USD at the box office over its opening weekend. The re-release debuted this past Friday, October 31.

The film combines “Baahubali: The Beginning” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion.” It features some additional scenes not seen in the initial releases.

A special screening on Thursday garnered $1.15 million USD. On its official opening day, Friday, the film collected $9.65 million USD. This brought its total first-day earnings to $10.8 million USD.

On Saturday, the second day of its release, “Baahubali The Epic” added $7.1 million USD to its gross. By Sunday, the film had earned an additional $3.69 million USD.

S.S. Rajamouli directed the film, which boasts a runtime of nearly three hours and 45 minutes. The cast includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, and Anushka Shetty.

The original “Baahubali: The Beginning” (2015) and “Baahubali: The Conclusion” (2017) were both critically acclaimed blockbusters. The current re-release aims to capitalize on that enduring popularity.

“Baahubali The Epic” entered a competitive market. “Kantara Chapter 1” has already surpassed the $600 million USD mark globally.

Other recent releases include “Thama” and “Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat,” which both premiered on October 21. “The Taj Story,” “Mass Jatara,” “Ek Kudi,” and “Single Salma” also launched on the same date.

The film’s performance on Monday will be a key indicator of its long-term box office trajectory. Industry analysts are closely monitoring its ability to maintain momentum during weekdays.
